Cookie News Volume 6- 1/8/25

Now Print Troop Initial Order Report (Troop Plan Book page 17) 

❏ Print the Troop Initial Order report (in ABC Smart Cookies) to bring when picking up your Initial Order cookies on your Service Unit delivery day.

❏ Girl Mailing
● GSOC has mailed to every registered girl a Cookie Guide for Girls packet with order cards, reward flyers, the Family Guide and more!  If girls do not receive a packet by January 9th, please email Customer Care at: customercare@girlscoutsoc.org for assistance. 

January 9
Digital Cookie Girl Registration Emails Begin (Troop Plan Book page 17)
● Girls and their parent/guardian will receive a registration email from email@email.girlscouts.org with details about participating in the online selling of cookies including a registration link for Digital Cookies.  *Remind families to make email@email.girlscouts.org a safe sender so they receive the registration and other emails sent through ABCSmartCookies.com. 

Troop Cookie Coordinator Training Update: 

The technical issue with the online New Troop Cookie Coordinator training has been resolved. All Troop Cookie Coordinators must complete training either online in gsLearn or in-person training.  

Additionally, online training resources for both new and experienced Troop Cookie Coordinators will remain accessible on gsLearn throughout the cookie program for reference and support. 

*Initial orders are due by 11:59pm on Tuesday, December 10th. The only way to GUARANTEE having the cookies you want is to place an initial order. If you do not place an initial order, your troop will NOT have cookies the first few days of the cookie program.

**Remember to make NoReply@ABCSmartCookies.com a safe sender so you receive the registration and other emails sent through ABCSmartCookies.com.

November 21 and Later  (Troop Plan Book)
❏ Qualify for Troop Cookie Coordinator position (check off as you go)
● Register online for the 2024-2025 Girl Scout Membership Year
● Select position in MyGS and pass background screening.
● Ensure Troop Banking Form has been submitted
● Attend a Cookie Chat on Planning a Family Meeting and Submitting Initial Orders
● Complete Troop Cookie Training online located on gsLearn in your MyGS account starting Dec 18

❏ Connect with Service Unit Team to:
● Receive Registration email for ABCSmartCookies
● Receive cookie receipt books and Troop Packet
● Find out Service Unit booth sale lottery day, time & location

❏ Girl Packets
● Girls will receive a Cookie Program Packet in the mail in early January

❏ Partner with Troop Leaders to:
Create your Troop Cookie Support Team – it is highly recommended for troops to have a Cookie Team to support the troop and girls’ efforts during the cookie program.
● Determine if your troop is willing to take on the risk of accepting checks
● Help troop and girls set goals
● Establish Troop’s plans to attend Service Unit Booth Sale Lottery.
● Schedule December family meeting (Troop Plan Book pg 14)
Determine Troop’s Initial Cookie Order after reviewing Initial Order Bonus requirements

❏ Receive registration email from ABC Smart Cookies (noreply@abcsmartcookies.com)
● Connect with your Service Unit Cookie Manager if you don’t have access by November 30th
❏ Create your account

Verify Girl Information in ABCSmartCookies (Troop Plan Book page 11)
❏ Check all girls are listed in ABC Smart Cookies
❏ Work with troop parents & Leaders to ensure registrations or transfers complete before the program begins. Cannot add, edit or delete girls.

Hold a Family Meeting (Troop Plan Book )
● Send Family Meeting invites to parents and attach a copy of the Family Guide and Parent Responsibility Form
● Use the Family Guide and Cookie Caregiver training (available starting 11/21) with girls and parents
● Give the girls a role and let them take the lead
● Collect Signed Parent Responsibility Form for each girl participating

December 10 Troop Initial Order Due (Troop Plan Book pages 15-17)
Initial orders are due by 11:59 pm on December 10. If you do not place an initial order, your troop will NOT have cookies the first few days of the Cookie Program.

Cookie News Volume 2 – 11/27/24

Troop Cookie Coordinators should plan on attending a Troop Cookie Chat for the latest information and training on the upcoming 2025 Cookie Program. Troops that would like to receive the Troop Initial Order Bonus must attend at least one Initial Order and Family Meeting Cookie Chat.
