Congratulations on another (or first!) Girl Scout Cookie Program! We are so grateful for all the time, effort, and compassion that you have dedicated to helping girls, families and volunteers! We know that the work isn’t over, but we couldn’t do this without your support. THANK YOU for everything that you do!

  • IMPORTANT:  We will be pulling the delivery address on Monday, March 25 to give to our vendors for the girl rewards. We asked Rewards Coordinators to complete this form to let us know the Service Unit Rewards Coordinator’s contact information for receiving rewards. This is a change from previous years and a pivot from being able to enter the information in ABC Smart Cookies. It’s Service Unit crunch time!  Be sure to check troop reports for accuracy, make corrections and complete steps to be eligible for SU Bonus.

March 20-24 End of Sale Service Unit Processing (Service Unit Plan Book pages 33-39)

Completing these steps is a requirement for the SU Bonus

  • Review Troop reports for accuracy and make corrections
  • Verify all cookies have been assigned using the Troop on Hand Inventory, allocate leftover to girls and correct any over allocations made by troops (listed on Troop on Hand Inventory as a negative number)
  • Verify recognition orders have been placed, create and review orders for troops as needed

Reminder, use the Manage Recognition Orders feature under Recognitions to update recognition orders as needed.

  • Create your account in ABC Smart Cookies
  • Modify your user account
  • Manage your delivery station only if you are doing your own Service Unit delivery,
  • IMPORTANT!  Do not change the Service Unit information with the Service Unit Rewards Coordinator’s information.  We will collect the delivery address from the Rewards Coordinator through an online form and submit them to ABC in a different format.  Please change the Service Unit information back to your, the Service Unit Cookie Manager information if you made any changes to this information.
  • Verify the troops listed in ABC Smart Cookies belong to your Service Unit (girls will be uploaded into ABC Smart Cookies every Monday and Thursday by 4 pm)
  • Submit a request to add any missing troop in ABC Smart Cookies to customercare@girlscoutsoc.org

Online Troop Cookie Coordinator Training

Troop Cookie Coordinator online training and quiz is available on gsLearn in everyones’ MyGS account.  This training will be available throughout the cookie program.

You are also invited to sign up for Troop Cookie Chats, or invite your TCCs to sign up, for live online chats to ask questions or seek advice from other volunteers and Council. Sign up is not required for SU chats.

Online Cookie Platforms

ABC Smart Cookies and Digital Cookie talk to each other.  Any cookies transferred to the girl in Smart Cookies will show up in Digital Cookie and any online girl delivery and direct ship sales received in Digital Cookies will show up in ABC Smart Cookies once the order has been marked as delivered by the girl or confirmed for shipment by the baker.

January 26 Late Initial Orders

  • Troops missing the cutoff for placing their Initial Order online will need to order cookies through a Cupboard.  Troops may place a Planned Order in ABC Smart Cookies beginning on Friday, January 26th.  A confirmation will be sent to troops from the Cupboard Manager with pick-up date and time.

Mega Shortages/Overages

  • Troops should contact their nearest cupboard and we will work on an individual basis to resolve issues with cookies.  Please use subject line: “SU & Troop #, Mega Shortage/Overage”. If troop received extra cookies, please state if you wish to keep or return the overage.

Mega Shortages – Troops should email their nearest cupboard to arrange a date and time to pick-up what they are missing by Thursday, February 8, 2024.  Include “Mega Shortage”, Service Unit and Troop #” in the subject line and what they were missing (variety and # of cases) in the body of the email.

Mega Overages – Troops should do one of the following by Thursday, February 8, 2024 if they picked up more cookies than they ordered at the mega:

  • If your troop wants to keep the extra cookies: email customercare@girlscoutsoc.org, put “Mega Overage” in the subject line and the variety and # of extra cases received.  Council will make the transfer in ABC Smart Cookies.

OR

  • If your troop wants to return the extra cookies: email your nearest cupboard, put “Mega Overage” in the subject line and the variety and # of extra cases received.  The Cupboard Manager will arrange a date and time for the cookies to be dropped off.

February 1 Cookie Cupboards Open (Troop Plan Book pages 21-24)

  • Place a Planned Order in ABC Smart Cookies for additional product as needed.  See Cupboard listing on the Volunteer Resource Page or click HERE.

Please note: The number of planned orders cupboards can accept and fulfill in a day will be limited for the health and safety of all volunteers.  The “preferred” date and timeframe you choose when placing your planned order are not guaranteed.  Wait for a confirmation from the cupboard manager that will include the confirmed date and time to pick-up your troop’s order.

Planned Orders (Troop Plan Book pages 21-24)
Please note:  Do NOT change a planned order after it has been entered into ABC Smart Cookies.  The Cupboard Managers will never see the changes and will only hand out product that is listed on the confirmation you received from the Cupboard.  Place a new planned order if you need additional cookies.  If you need less, let the Cupboard Manager know by replying to the cupboard confirmation.

  • Troops can place up to 5 planned orders per week (Monday-Sunday).
  • Planned orders are placed by the CASE. 
  • Ensure your Troop Cookie Coordinator’s information is listed on the Troop Information page in ABC Smart Cookies.  This information is used to send order pick-up confirmations by the Cookie Cupboard Managers.
  • Troops cannot pick-up their planned orders until they receive a confirmation email from a Cookie Cupboard.  Confirmations from the Cookie Cupboards will be sent within 24-48 hours of your pickup time.

Damaged Product

What is considered damage product?  Damage product is any of the following: damaged packaging, missing package from a case, empty package, or a customer return.  Complete the Damaged Product Report and contact a cupboard.  The Cupboard Manager will work on a date and time to exchange the damage product.

Initial Order Bonus Inquiry

If your troop is short Initial Order Bonus items, or did not receive the bonus and believe that you should have, please complete the Cooke Initial Order Bonus Inquiry Form.

Girl Money Reminders: Feb 1 – March 10

(Troop Plan Book page 29)

  • Collect money from girls often and before giving out more cookies!
  • Count all money received in the presence of the parent/guardian or another adult.  Check all money received for counterfeit bills. Do not accept counterfeit bills. Give the parent/adult the yellow copy of the signed receipt. Troops keep the white receipt copy.
  • Record all girl payments in ABC Smart Cookies.
  • Deposit girl money into the TROOP account.

Troop Cookie Coordinators can issue a credit card refund from the Digital Cookie online platform.  See the “Refunding Orders” tutorial located in the “Digital Cookie Resources” accordion on www.gscookiesetc.org/cookies.

February 9 – Booth Sales Begin

Booth Sales begin this Friday, February 9th! Please be sure that your troops are prepared for cookie booth sales by reminding them that all participating adults must complete the Adult Booth Sale Training and Quiz for 2024. This module is for all adults who will support the Cookie Program at a Cookie Booth Sale; that could include the Troop Cookie Coordinator, Leaders, and any parents participating in cookie sales with their girl.

Please note, there is a quiz at the end of the training and adults will need to record their name and troop number. Adult Booth Training Reports will be posted every Monday and Thursday. These Reports can be found on the Volunteer Resources page starting Monday February 5, 2024.

Online Cookie Share Orders

Cookie Share orders that are placed as “direct ship” in Digital Cookie, will automatically be recorded as a virtual cookie share sale in ABC Smart Cookies. For Cookie Share donation orders placed for “Girl Delivery”, these orders must be logged in ABC to give credit to the girl for the sale. If it is a “Donation only” order, meaning the customer didn’t order any additional cookies to be delivered, and only ordered Cookie Share, these should also be treated as a “Girl Delivery” and logged in ABC as done in previous years. We understand that the recent storms have made it difficult for many of our troops and Girl Scouts to sell cookies going door-to-door and at booth sales leaving them with unsold inventory. We have been listening to your concerns, and in response, we are happy to announce that we are extending the cookie sale through March 17th!

We are also here to support you, the Service Unit Cookie Managers.  Some of you may be unable to continue supporting the troops through the program extension for various reasons, which is okay too.  Please reach out to us if you have a concern, and we will work with you to find a resolution.

Below are the newly updated dates for the end of the cookie program for your consideration.

  • March 15 – Start collecting girls’ final balance due to the troop.
  • March 15-19 – End of Program Processing for Troops
  • March 17 – Cookie Program Ends
  • By March 19 – Final deposits made into troop account to cover final payment. Payment Adjustment form submitted if needed.
  • March 20 by 9:00 am – Troop final reports due to service unit by 9 am.

Troops can place orders of more cookies with the cupboard to sell, and return unsold cookies picked up on consignment to the cupboard. This is a great opportunity to have all the variety that you need, with no risk for the troop! Please be sure to read the email sent 2/27/24 titled “Consignment Cookies” for more details and directions. If you do not see this email, please let us know.

Service Unit Cookie Manager should do the following:
