Girl Scouts of Orange County is upgrading some of our online systems. As part of this process, the determination has been made to retire the Volunteer Network by the end of March. Members who are currently accessing resources still housed on the Volunteer Network, such as Volunteer Training and Recognition Records, Service Unit Rosters, and Product Sales Resources, will receive a separate communication with instructions for where they can access the resource once the Volunteer Network has been retired. If you have any questions about this communication, please contact firstname.lastname@example.org.
With permission from the Service Unit Cookie Manager and Booth Coordinator, troops may continue to sell their remaining cookie inventory through March 31, 2019. These cookies should be allocated to girls in ABCSmartCookies for recognitions, since girls will be selling them, and final paperwork should be completed. Girls and Troops may sell cookies door-to-door in residential neighborhoods, at a cookie stand on their own OC property, and to friends and family throughout the month of March. Anything else requires permission from the SU Booth Sale Coordinator. Cookies may NOT be sold after March 31 without special permission from GSOC.
Please remind your girls to redeem their 2018 Cookie Dough, 2017 OC Bucks, and Juliette Dollars before the end of April! How can Cookie Dough and OC Bucks be used?
See the Cookie Dough FAQs for more information.
Would your troop like to create some Cookie Share Thank You cards? We have template cards printed at the Headquarters. If your troop would like to color and write an encouraging message for the military or Second Harvest Food Bank, email Cookies@GirlScoutsOC.org. We can put them at Will Call for you. We need the cards back by Monday, March 25, 2019.
All old entries have now been deleted. If you still have cookies remaining, please repost your cookies. The cookie swap site will remain up through the end of the month. Email email@example.com for any questions.
Over the weekend, troops jumped to the next proceeds level and will now earn 74¢ per package. Congratulations on this achievement! Our council team is processing final Cookie Program numbers–including virtual Cookie Share, online sales, and cookies taken from the cupboards. More updates coming soon!
Thank you to all of our amazing volunteers, parents, families, and friends who supported all of our Orange County Cookie Bosses this year during the 2019 Cookie Program! With your support, our girls were able to reach beyond their goals! The Product Sales Team is tallying up all final numbers and we will have more updates for you soon. Be on the lookout for the final top seller lists in April!
Girls should use their order cards to re-connect with customers who already ordered this year. Why?
Let them know that it is the last week of sales and they will have to wait until next year to get more cookies. Girl Scout Cookies freeze really well!
See if they would like to donate any packages for the Military and Second Harvest Food Bank. Let them know that these donations are tax-deductible. You can find the receipts here.9
If not, they are all over the county, looking for troops who are on their game!
We sure hope that you are having fun! It always shows. Girls who have fun and are engaged, sell more cookies.
Newly updated Mystery House list for the final days of the Cookie Program is here! Receive an exclusive patch and bragging rights If you’re the first to find one. Don’t forget, Door Hangers count, too!
There are 22 left to find! Get out there and find them!

Congratulations! Last weekend troops jumped two proceeds levels! Troops have picked up enough cookie packages to earn 72¢ per package and your Direct Ship orders got us to 73¢! If each troop takes just 14 more packages (and/or Direct Ship or Cookie Share sales), earnings will jump to 74¢ per package. We can do this!

“I’ve been thinking a lot about friendship and digital devices lately. Granted, it’s because I am a college professor who is constantly catching my students on them in class. So many of the digital devices that supposedly connect us are leaving many of us, myself included, feeling a bit disconnected. I notice this as there is much less chatter amongst my students. Online relationships, though they can be enjoyable, cannot replace real, live, in-person connection. There is just something magical about being physically present with another human being.
This is where Girl Scout cookies come in. My daughter, Kate, had an impressive goal of selling 750 cookies this year to raise money for her San Francisco bridging trip. She was 16 boxes shy of meeting her goal. This is where her good friend, Zaleeya, stepped in. Since Zaleeya had already reached her goal, she supported Kate by going with her to a booth sale. Zaleeya was physically present for Kate, and helped her exceed selling 750 boxes!
I think we can all agree there is something magical about Girl Scout cookies. Beyond that, they can spawn wonderful relationships. And no, there is not – and I can’t imagine there ever will be – an app for that.”
